Current Role & Tenure

  • Appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University of Mumbai.

  • His appointment is co-terminus with the term of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ravindra D. Kulkarni.

Academic & Administrative Experience

  • Principal, Ramanand Arya DAV College, Bhandup.

  • Served as In-charge Dean of Faculty of Commerce & Management, University of Mumbai.

  • Member of key bodies of the University such as Board of Studies, Senate, Management Council, and Academic Council.

Priorities and Contributions

  • Leading the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) at University of Mumbai; this includes curriculum revision, evaluation reforms, academic calendar normalization post-COVID.

  • Set up a NEP Cell with Deans of all Faculties, representatives from autonomous colleges and the NEP steering committee to coordinate policy implementation and awareness across stakeholders.

  • As Chairman, Board of Studies, has initiated revisions and upgrades of the commerce & business management syllabi to align with current and evolving industry needs, across a large number of affiliated colleges.

Teaching & Experience

  • Over 34 years of teaching experience.

Challenges & Vision

  • Key tasks include holding elections for all statutory governance bodies of the University (Senate, Academic Council, Management Council, Boards of Studies etc.).

  • Implementation of the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) system.

  • Improving the university’s ranking by focusing on research & development, consultancy, perception etc.

  • Promotion of decentralization via strengthening sub-campuses, and enhancing coordination with colleges.
