Educational Background & Experience

  • B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Computer Science from North Maharashtra University 

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence (Computer Science & Technology) from SNDT Women’s University 

  • More than 20 years of teaching and academic administration experience. 

  • Previously a professor in Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT), Mumbai; held roles in the Computer Science / MCA departments. 

Role & Key Responsibilities

As Director of the Board of Examinations & Evaluation (BoEE), her responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing conduct of examinations and evaluation for University of Mumbai, which involves hundreds of exams every session.

  • Ensuring timely declaration of results. 

  • Streamlining processes including evaluation, paper setting, result compilation, revaluation, etc.

  • Incorporating technology (AI, data science, machine learning) to reduce delays & inefficiencies. 

Notable Achievements & Vision

  • Second woman in the 166-year history of University of Mumbai to be appointed as full-time head of the exam unit (after Padma Deshmukh, who held the analogous post previously).

  • Her appointment came after a vacancy in the full-time director position; she has committed to prioritizing result timeliness and using modern tools to improve exam/evaluation efficiency.
